Google's New Search Algorithms - Content Is Still King

In order to eliminate those that simply copy content or publish low quality content, Google announced some very dramatic changes to its search algorithms at the end of January this year. Google's new content detection techniques negatively affected the ranking of many websites of those that do not produce new and fresh content on a regular basis.

Many webmasters have claimed that their websites experienced collateral damage due to the content spam prevention. They affirmed that their websites' content was original and helpful, but their traffic suddenly dropped around 40 - 60% because Google's system was making false conclusions. However, Google stated that "Google's search quality is better than it has ever been in terms of relevance, freshness and comprehensiveness". Those who were talking about the new evaluation metrics may have been simply mixing unique content with non-unique content.Google advised these website owners to separate their high-quality content from the auto-generated content that had been blocking it from being crawled and indexed.

That being said, the new metrics are helping real content producers and entrepreneurs who purchase original content written by ghostwriters to surpass competitors who simply copy other authors' content, or publish content that doesn't provide helpful information to the general public. This means that the importance of unique and informational content online has immensely increased, as we previously predicted it would. It also means that we were all wrong for believing that high-quality; original content always played a decisive role in a website's ranking. Only now is it really giving true status to those who provide unique information to their readers.

The redesigned document classifier used by Google seems to be helping internet users find real solutions to their problems. Instead of finding websites in the first search results page where they'll simply waste their time reading already-known content that has been poorly distorted by content pirates, users are finding sites and blogs that analyze their problems through different perspectives, and give them new answers.

While in the past link popularity was the most important factor for deciding a website's ranking, independently of the utility and originality of its published content, today the power of original content with substantial information is eliminating the predominance of annoying marketing strategies by spammers. This means that business owners must focus on adding unique information to their websites and blogs, instead of mainly focusing on link building techniques like before, though link building still plays a vital role.

So, what should you take away from this? One should clearly see the shift in paradigm in the internet's focus. The focus is in rewarding those that are truly trying to provide information that helps readers and viewers. So, now, more than ever, it becomes very important to make sure your brand has a clear and concise message and that all your content comes from the heart or from qualified content providers that sell unique content. Entrepreneurs, make sure you sit down and evaluate the purpose, quality and clarity of your brand message or you will be left behind.

Why Good Houses Don't Sell?

When a house doesn't sell as quickly as expected, it's easy (for the owner anyway) to lay the blame on a soft real estate market, or a lousy selling season. After all, neither of those things are the seller's faults, nor under the seller's control. The fact is, though, that 90% of the time when a house doesn't sell quickly, it's due to problems that are within the control of the home's owner. And that's good news. It means that they're fixable - and once they're fixed, the house should sell quickly.

If your house has been on the market and isn't getting the attention and offers that you expected, it may be time to reevaluate a few things. Here are several potential reasons that good houses typically don't sell well. Go through the list and see if your home fits into one of them.

Priced Above Market

The number one reason that a house doesn't sell quickly is that it's priced above its true market value. I don't care what your real estate appraisal says, or how much you need to get for the house, or how much you invested in improvements - the only real measure of your house's true market value is what people are willing to pay for it.

The best way to figure that out is to find out how much people have been willing to pay for similar houses in your neighborhood. Once you know that, you can logically calculate a price for your own house based on the market price for similar houses. Keep in mind, though, that any time you price your home more than 5% above the typical price in your neighborhood, you're taking a very real risk of pricing yourself out of the market.

Poor Photo

If you're not getting calls at all from people interested in seeing the house you're selling, it may be the fault of the photograph of your home in the MLS brochure or web site. While some realtors will encourage prospective buyers to take a look because 'the picture doesn't do it justice', most buyers won't even call about a house that doesn't look good in the brochure.

Invest in a professional photographer to get the best possible picture of your house. If there's a time of day that it looks its best, arrange to take the picture then, and be sure to crop the photo to show the house at its most flattering. That photo is very likely to be the first look that prospective buyers get at your house. You want it to make a great first impression.

Terrible Curb Appeal

You may be losing sales before potential buyers even set foot in the door. Take a walk across the street and look at your house from the curb. That's the first view that people get of your house as they approach it from the street. If the lawn is shaggy and overgrown, or the house is badly in need of a coat of paint, buyers will be wondering what else hasn't been taken care of over the years.

Make sure that your house looks good from the curb. Make sure that shutters are firmly attached, paint is fresh and the lawn and bushes are well-trimmed. The better your house looks on the outside, the more likely you are to get prospective buyers to step inside.

Dirty House

If the house is dirty, cluttered or smells of old tobacco smoke and pet odors, it will be difficult to find a buyer. Very few people want to buy a dirty house. Like a house that appears neglected from the outside, a house that isn't taken care of inside will make buyers wonder what they're getting themselves into. No one wants to spend their first week in a new house cleaning up after the old owners.

Clean up your act before you start showing the house. Get rid of personal belonging or stow them out of sight. De-clutter counters, tabletops and walls. The fresher and cleaner your house is, the better prospective buyers will feel about buying it.

Unbearable Odors

Odors are one of the most insidious deal killers. If you live with pet odors, cigarette smoke and mildew smells all the time, you may not notice them - but potential buyers will. Even if it's not consciously noted, a house that doesn't smell good has a subtle psychological effect that can kill a sale before it gets started.Odors have to be attacked at the source. Take down curtains and wash them with a fresh-smelling fabric softener before re-hanging. Get rid of musty smelling carpets, and stop smoking inside your house.

If you're not certain what it is about your house that's keeping it from buying, ask your realtor to get feedback from those who come to see it. Keep track of their comments to help you put your finger on just what you need to do to make your house more appealing.

Dance Studios

For serious dance enthusiasts, enrolling in a dance studio might just be the answer to their need to polish their skills and meet fellow dancers who share the same passion for dancing. But before you part with your hard-earned cash, consider the following guidelines when choosing a dance studio.

First, determine what it is you really want. Do you just want to dance for the sheer fun of it or would you like to be the best by learning the proper technique? Would you like to dance for health reasons since it is one of the best ways to shed unwanted pounds while keeping the body fit? Or do you want to enroll in a dance studio for social reasonsto broaden your circle of friends and acquaintances? Your motivation for enrolling might also be to spend some quality time with your spouse or to gain confidence by acquiring a new skill.

Second, find out how much you are willing to spend and can afford. This will determine what dance studio you can enroll in and the mode of payment that is easiest on your pocket.

Third, determine the basic goal of the dance studio before you enroll in one. It may be as varied as your motivations to dance. Choose the studio that answers your particular needs. Also, determine the services the studio offers vis a vis other studios. In other words, shop around for the best dance studio your money can buy. Some studios offer various lessons, ranging from private, group, specialized courses, practice sessions coaching lessons, and floor time for individual practice. Other services provided are information on dress, shoes, and other dance paraphernalia as well as other facts related to dance, e.g., dance organizations, social events, and other functions.

Finally, determine the competency of the owners and teachers. If you are the competitive type, you might want to know if the studio can provide you the best training possible for the event you are preparing for. Remember that teaching and mastery of the skill are two different things. That means an excellent dancer may not be an effective teacher since teaching requires a different kind of training and skills. You may also want to know whether the studio teaches choreography or the transition and movements between steps since not all studios have this type of service.

So what are you waiting for? Enroll now in a dance studio, and keep the following guidelines in mind as you shop for one.

They Don't Want You To Get Rid of Ants, Gnats, Termites, and other Pestful Insects

Lots of people want to know how to get rid of ants, gnats, termites, insects, rodents, silverfish, and all sorts of other creepy crawlers. Often these people are caught in a fed up stage in which they will run out to by the first over hyped product they see or hear about. This hype creates an illusion of a cure, which often never works out. But why?

Well... the reason why is because these companies create more and more hype about products as they become available so that you can spend more money than the last product thinking it'll be a bit stronger. And sometimes they do. But what is stronger in this case? A week or two. Yes, a week or two. These products might last up to a month longer, but the general idea is to win your trust in the product so they can keep selling it to you. No business wants to lose customers by solving their problem, trust me.

The question you all need to ask yourself is what ways can you get rid of the problems yourselves. Surely there are methods that don't require shelling out tons of money on a quarterly basis for products that don't even get the job done nearly as expected, right?

Don't worry, your problem has already been solved! Despite these sort of practices, there is actually an elderly guy whom goes by the name of John Perez [http://www.squidoo.com/Home_and_Lawn_Pest_Control], whom just happens to be a professional gardener. He has come up with his own recipes that have managed to keep his lawn looking better than perfect and pest free, all which he's created from his home. Not only does he specialize in insecticides & fertilizers, but he is about helping people and for years has refused to sell his recipes to top selling companies, as they are trying to understand his methods and possibly incorporate them or silence him. Of course, they will get a hold to his methods now, but for him to share with the public he has to take that risk, hoping more public finds out about his methods before they actually go buy the company modified versions.
